I bought this book because other reviewers mentioned it was written like a Victoria Holt novel. I couldn't disagree more. The writing was terrible - characters not developed, dialogue stilted and cliche, and the story was very choppy. It almost seemed like a 13 year old was writing the story. I'm not typically over-critical about books like these. I don't care if they are historically accurate, etc. But this one was plain awful. The only redeeming part is that it will take you less than an hour to read. But that's probably too much. Skip it!Product details

Don't buy this book. I found it disappointing and juvenile. The idea behind it was interesting, but it was poorly written. The characters are one dimensional. The dialogue is awkward. There was too much silly romantic drivel.
Jonni Rich has a winner on her hands with 'Ghost of Dragoncroft'. Good read for my fellow readers out there.
Even though I enjoy English Gothic novels this one was a little off. The intrigue was there but something was missing.
This almost seemed like a direct take-off of Jane Eyre. There were some difference but there were too many similarities for me.
This story was kind of short. The ending left out some of the details I wanted to know. Instead of someone in the story line being the guilty one, the author brought in an unknown person in the last part to be the bad guy.
very typical story to fit the mold of a romance novel - has all the "correct" ingredients - but entirely predictable, skips around from place to place - even changes between heroine and hero as first person - immature writing style- but the story itself is fun
I personally would not recommend reading this book to anyone except maybe someone I didn't like very much. The story line starts out good and then just crashes and burns. My suggestion? Read something else.
