As mentioned in other reviews, I have read several of Taylor Lee's books. This one is also a champion thriller - two reasons: first -the well-developed characters and plot, and second - because I live in Wyoming and know its history and flavor. The plot is very feasible - and tells the story of early Wyoming statehood and its racial diversity and cultural conflicts - caused by prejudice. WYOMING APOLOGIES!!!Now, I have to concede that this is similar to TL's other character images, the sex scenes and even the phrases (I'll not describe them.) Because this story was set in the early 1900's, I have visual trouble with how the characters get from Cheyenne to Casper and then to Jackson in a short while. But overlooking the actual distances among the cities/towns...it's still a powerful read.
Again despite my love of her novels, she does use many similar phrases - describing sex between the partners: "And she did...and he did". Further "she was angry, but he...and he was angry, but she...") And the terms tears and anger suffocated much of the story line. Somebody was always in tears OR pis... off)
Erasing those praqmatic errors, the book is a great read. I finished it in two days. You'll love it.

This is not the usual historical romance, it is more like a mixture of history, cultures, romance and sex. The characters appear larger than life, with such force and determination. It was hard to speed read, because all the words counted. Very enjoyable read.
This book is wonderfull, the whole series is a fun exciting ride. Full of action, excitement, drama and of Romance. Strong realistic characters yes this book has a lot of violence and the hero is ruthless and violent in al these books but it fits with the times and who the Hero is. There are no Pretend bad boys in this series, the heros are the real thing. And the sex is hot. What more can you ask for in a book.
I found that the life of the characters was WAY to modern for the era they were living in. Not sure, but the shower and devices parts seemed to take away from the storyline. I found Lei Chang's character a strange mixture of obvious strength, but her vulnerability and temper tantrums did not blend well with this character.
I THOUGHT THE PLOT WAS VERY GOOD AND ENJOYED THE STORY LINE I DID THINK THE EXPLICIT SEX SCENES WERE NOT NEEDED FOR THE STORY THEY COULD HAVE BEEN TONED DOWN AND STILL BEEN A GOOD STORY I ALSO FOUND THE SEXUAL CONTENT TO BE KIND OF CONTROLING AND BORDERLINE ABUSEIVE BY THE MALE CHARACTER OVERALL I DID ENJOY THE BOOK EXCEPT FOR THAT
Great read!!! Would recommend it to anyone who loves a great romance novel, filled with your up and downs of life!!! Also lots of sex and interesting parts that go along with it!!! This second book made me cry in parts! The love between the two main characters in this book was breathtaking and aw inspiring!!! I don't know if I would keep my man if he did the shit this guy did!!! But other then that great read never the less!!!! Enjoy! -)
Super, super, super graphic and explicit sexuality and sacrilege. Out of sheer curiosity about the characters I was already invested in, I unfortunately decided to read the sequel after a while. There's no real action, it's raw erotica surrounded by the drama of Wyatt's candidacy and his rocky relationship with Lei (much of which is drawn out). The sexuality was so overbearing it's basically porn. That has to be what you're looking for coming in--- graphic porn, with a storyline--- not erotica with a storyline. It was better than Book 1, though.
I love this series! Everyone is multiracial from Wyatt with his Apache and white blood to Lei with her Chinese and white blood. This picks up three years after Wyatt and Lei's baby is born. Circumstances occur that makes Wyatt decide to run for governor of Wyoming but no one could imagine the drama that will unfold. Lei refuses to marry Wyatt because of his promiscuous ways even though he has been faithful to her for three years- so that just gives his corrupt greedy opponent more fuel for his fire. Besides shacking up and having a biracial baby, Lei's father Wan is head of the largest most violent Tong. Then the campaign crew is 3-1 ratio highly immoral women to willing men so that doesn't help Wyatt with his monogamy issue....
But no one knows the biggest danger comes from an old enemy and he is using the election as cover for his revenge....
Full of Kung fu action, smoking hot bedroom action, and a darn good story too- I recommend that you read them all!
